Founder Profile

Shravanthi Venkatesh

I was born and raised in Bengaluru, India. On paper, I’m a Psychologist and Dramatherapist (HCPC Regd., UK), and off paper I live a more exciting and kaleidoscopic life, where I’m a writer, poet, Indian classical dancer, actor,

meditation facilitator, activist, and feminist.

My work experience and interest lie in working with concepts of the Self, identity, trauma, grief & loss, and shame.

I’ve worked with a range of clinical groups and age groups both in India and in the United Kingdom.

In India my role as a psychologist had me working with children with special needs, developmental and learning difficulties, in the areas of assessment, rehabilitation and remediation, while providing counselling and psychoeducation for their parents. Alongside this, I’ve had experience working in an all-male de-addiction centre, a half-way home for people with schizophrenia, as well as in an outpatient general psychiatric ward which catered

to children and adults.

In the UK I’ve had experience as a trainee dramatherapist in an in-patient acute assessment psychiatric ward for geriatric patients with cognitive disabilities and psychiatric conditions, in Primary schools and High schools for after-school dramatherapy groups for children experiencing emotional difficulties and as a therapist for children and adolescents experiencing grief and

bereavement of parent(s) or/and a sibling(s).

On returning to India, I’ve been involved in providing a space for personal therapy, conducting routine workshops, spreading awareness about dramatherapy and different areas of mental health awareness, and the integral role the creative arts play within the spaces of individual and collective healing while also nurturing my passion for facilitating conversations around

mental health and lived experience.
